All Stars
Whatever ability, gender or age*
An Invitation
Want to play some competitive football alongside your regular recreational session or any competitive games?
Calne Town has recently launched an All Stars team.
We're all stars.
The aim is to get a broader mix of players on the pitch together, giving every walking footballer opportunities to play in more games, regardless of gender, age group, ability, club or which recreational session you attend.
These ‘All Star’ games are about the enjoyment of taking part in some competitive games outside of the league fixture list.
Who can play?
*Men aged 50+ and Women aged 40+, with no upper age limits. We expect most games and tournaments to be a mix of age and gender.
If you are registered to play for another club, you are still welcome to play with the All Stars as this is non-league and we're not looking for allegiance - it's just a game!
Types of games played?
Games are invitational in nature and are a mix of:
Charity tournaments/games such as one completed in March for our own Charlie Newton’s ‘March the Month’, where a significant amount of money was raised for a very worthy cause.
Joining invitational tournaments. e.g. Hosted by a local club such as our friends from Chippenham or helping newly formed WF Clubs for match practice to develop their team.
‘Test’ games. e.g. We would be asked to assemble a team to play the Wiltshire over 65s to prepare them for their season.
Most games/tournaments are typically played in Calne, Chippenham and Devizes with a few elsewhere, some outside of Wiltshire!
We will provide CTWFC team shirts but, ideally, you’ll bring your own black shorts and socks.
Note: All games will be refereed to the prevailing WF rules and on the official pitch sizes.
With a little help from the Chippenham girls and guys, Charlie reached his target of raising £2,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
Calne Town WF and Melksham WF mixed teams.
How often will the team play?
As the team is set up for invitational games and tournaments, we don’t have set fixtures. Looking back at the last year, we have entered a team for approximately 7 tournaments. As we make other clubs aware of our plans, this may potentially increase.
What next?
Let us know if you are interested either now or in the future and we can chat offline.
